SOLENOID VALVE FAQ

COIL OF SOLENOID VALVES

By Wayne Chiu
Techinically, with different acting structure, material of valve body, and material of sealing parts, solenoid valves can apply to a variety of fluid. However, coil is the component where energy and operation exactly conduct during usage. There are at least four different kinds of type to let the valve adopt to any of the surroundings. To clarify their function and characteristics, we are about the point that out in the following content.

1.     Iron Case Coil (2-wire)It is the universal type of coil to match most of the models of our solenoid valve. It can meet the requirements of most of the conditions.            However, if you need something about water proofness, you might find the following options for your specific solution.

2.     Waterproof Coil (2-wire / DIN PLUG)Waterproof coil comes with two types. One is with 2-wire and the other is with DIN PLUG. It offers different kinds of wiring
to meet our clients’ demands. However, for outdoor use, please make sure you make a protective cover to keep from direct sunlight and long-last rainfall.

3.     NASS DIN Coil (IP65) Waterproof coil (NASS DIN) made in Germany supplies the advanced water proofness prior to the one we introduced previously, and it is
        certified as IP65.

4.     NASS Explosionproof Coil (IP67) If you need to use solenoid valve in an explosive atmosphere and hazardous surroundings, explosionproof coil supplied by nass
magnet is definitely a wise choice.

What's the grade and zone available for explosion solenoid valve?

Our explosion solenoid valve is available for zone 1 & 2, T4 temperature grade.

What is DIN plug?

1. DIN plug is a solenoid valve connector that shows the solenoid valve status -- on / off.
2. Din plug makes wiring of solenoid valve easy and safe.

What are the normal close and normal open of solenoid valve?

1. Normal close --solenoid valve is closed when power on.
2. Normal open --solenoid valve is opened when power on.

How does solenoid valve work?

Solenoid valves work by input direction and pressure.
When the solenoid valve power on, the fluid input pressure must be larger than output pressure,
the solenoid valve will be opened (normal close type) or closed (normal open type.)

How to select a correct solenoid valve?

You need the information as following:
1. Fluid / fluid temperature
2. Operating pressure
3. Material and Size of valve
4. Connecting interface: Thread end (spec.: PT, BSP, NPT) or flange end (PN10, PN16, JIS10K, ANSI150LB)
